Our proposed evidence standard

Use authoritative assessments and systematic reviews before individual studies. Distinguish observational associations, probable causal relationships and established causal conclusions. State the pollutant, population, time period and outcome behind a claim.

Independent specialist review is planned before project-specific scientific claims are published. No scientific advisory board or external reviewer has been appointed or is implied by this website.

Measurement before interpretation

A pilot protocol should specify instrument performance, co-location or calibration, siting, data completeness, uncertainty, temporal coverage and reproducible processing. Low-cost sensors may support an investigation, but do not automatically provide regulatory-grade evidence.

How we intend to review findings

Pre-specify the question, endpoint, analysis and publication plan.
Commission review by appropriate air-quality and health specialists, with declared conflicts.
Seek qualified legal review before interpreting obligations, liability or enforcement powers.
Document responses to methodological challenges and unresolved limitations.
Publish methods, suitable aggregated data and analysis code where privacy and permissions allow.

Uncertainty is part of the result

We will report ranges and sensitivity analyses, missing data and plausible alternative explanations. No short-term local measurement will be directly converted into a personal health diagnosis. Modelled health benefits will remain explicitly labelled estimates.

Corrections and unsuccessful interventions

Our proposed publication policy includes dated corrections, version history and an explanation of changes that affect conclusions. We intend to report null and adverse results under the same standards as positive findings.
